# Visiting Milwaukee with toddlers and little kids: the plan

> Milwaukee is an easy family trip because three of the best indoor stops sit side by side on the lakefront. Here’s how we’d spend one or two days, with the zoo as the outdoor anchor and nap built in.

## Top 5 can’t-miss spots

- **Betty Brinn Children’s Museum** (Downtown lakefront): Start here at opening while toddlers are fresh. It’s a manageable size, so two hours is plenty before lunch. Cost: $14 kids. Site: https://bbcmkids.org/
- **Discovery World** (Downtown lakefront): The aquarium tunnel is the part little kids remember. Save the labs for older siblings and keep the visit short. Cost: $20 kids, $24 adults. Site: https://discoveryworld.org/
- **Milwaukee County Zoo** (West side): Plan a full morning. The indoor animal buildings make it work even on chilly days. Site: https://milwaukeezoo.org/
- **Milwaukee Art Museum** (Lakefront): Go for the Kohl’s Art Studio and the building itself. Watching the wings move is the highlight for most toddlers. Cost: $27 adults. Site: https://mam.org/
- **Milwaukee Public Museum** (Westown): A good backup for a cold or rainy afternoon. Head straight for the Streets of Old Milwaukee and skip the rest if attention runs out. Cost: $19 kids, $25 adults. Site: https://www.mpm.edu/

- Parking, Discovery World: The museum has a heated underground garage. Get a validation ticket at the admission desk and the fee drops to a $6 flat rate during museum hours.
- Parking, Milwaukee County Zoo: $15 per car. Entry is by license plate now, so you pay on site by QR code.
- Parking, Milwaukee Art Museum: Use the Calatrava underground garage or Museum Center Park. Free street spots nearby are limited.
- Parking, Milwaukee Public Museum: The MacArthur Square structure next door has a ground-level entrance into the museum, so you never have to go outside. Downtown street meters are free on Sundays.
