How we choose what goes on the list
Every city list is put together the same way, each week, for families with kids from newborn to age 6.
Where listings come from
We go through library calendars, parks and nature centers, museums, zoos, farms, performing-arts centers, local parenting calendars and the pages of traveling kids’ acts. A post on social media can tip us off, but it never counts as proof on its own.
How we check them
- Every listing links to the organizer’s or venue’s own page, and the date, time, place and price come from that page.
- If we can’t confirm an event on an organizer or venue page, we leave it out.
- When an address isn’t printed on the event page, we use the venue’s published address and note that in our data.
- Age fit is our own call: we lean toward things that work around naps, strollers and short attention spans.
- We recheck each city’s list before the weekend, and the date at the bottom of each city page shows when it was last checked.
Sponsored spots
Businesses can pay for a featured spot. Paid placements are always labeled as sponsored, and paying never gets an event onto the regular list. The regular list is never for sale. Details are on our partners page.
Corrections
Plans change. If something we list is wrong, canceled or moved, email hello@littlesweekly.com with the city and event name. We fix confirmed errors on the page as soon as we can, usually the same day, and if an event is canceled we take it off the list.
