Good questions

Kids’ turkey trots: the FAQ

16 list an age limit of 8 or younger, including Fresno Turkey Trot (Fresno), Inland Valley Turkey Trot Kids Fun Run (Inland Empire), Fort Myers Turkey Trot Tot Trot (Fort Myers–Naples), Invesco QQQ Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon, 5K, Mile & Dash (Atlanta), MUST Gobble Jog (Atlanta) and Honolulu Marathon Clinic Turkey Trot (Honolulu). The age limit on each card is from the race’s own page.

17 races mention a medal for the kids’ race: Turkey Trot-n-Trek 1K (Northwest Arkansas), MJC Turkey Trot kids' half-mile (Stockton–Modesto), Ventura Turkey Trot Kids 1K (Ventura County), Webster Hill Turkey Trot (Hartford and New Haven), Bradenton Runners Club kids' 1/3-mile Turkey Trot (Sarasota–Bradenton), Thanksgiving Day Gobble Wobble 5K & Kids Fun Run (Atlanta), Aiken Turkey Trot 1-Mile Fun Run (Augusta), Turkey Burn (Indianapolis), Wheeler Mission Drumstick Dash (Indianapolis), The Des Moines Turkey Trot (Des Moines), Thoroughbred Classic 5K (Lexington), Northeast Family YMCA Thanksgiving Turkey Trot (Louisville), Albuquerque Turkey Trot: Tot Trot and Little Turkey Run (Albuquerque), CPI Security Charlotte Turkey Trot (Charlotte), Turkey Strut 1 Mile (Greensboro–Winston-Salem), Turkey Day Run Children’s Fun Run (Charleston) and Two Rivers Turkey Trot 1K Tater Trot (Washington, DC). A few others list a ribbon or a finisher award. When a race page doesn’t say, the card says “See race page.”

Thursday, Nov. 26, 2026. Each card shows the start times from the race’s own page.

It stays at the same address. After the holiday weekend it lists the races without dates, and next year’s dates go up as each race confirms them.

Each race comes from its own official page and links to it. We only list a race once that page confirms the 2026 date, and the kids’ distance, age limit and medal come from the same page. How we choose and check.

Holiday plans every Thursday.

Pick your city and get one short email every Thursday evening with the things to do with kids we found and checked that week.
